Tableland Region Art Society (TRAS) is an active & supportive community art organisation.
We are based in the regional town of Atherton, about an hour west of the tropical city of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia. Our members come from all over the beautiful Atherton Tablelands, and range from beginners to established artists.
TRAS includes a number of groups under its umbrella, who participate in a variety of creative activities.
We welcome all those from the local area with an interest in art to join us!
Each year TRAS holds multiple group exhibitions, giving its members the opportunity to show their work in the three local galleries run by Tablelands Regional Council.
This group of artists get together each Thursday at the TRAS rooms, at the Community Centre in Atherton. They work in a variety of painting mediums & styles, either independently, or with the encouragement & guidance of an art tutor.
TRAS has a well-equipped Print Room at the Community Centre in Atherton, where members with an interest in printmaking can experiment with different techniques & hone their skills.
Members of TRAS meet at the Old Post Office Gallery workspace in Atherton on Tuesday & Wednesday mornings to work on individual sewing & craft projects in a friendly social setting.
